Abstract

This literature review explores the healing process of greenstick fractures and advanced therapeutic interventions to enhance recovery. Due to their partial bone disruption, greenstick fractures provide a unique opportunity for targeted treatments, such as mechanical and electrical stimulation. The use of a detachable brace or plaster backslab allows physiotherapy interventions, including targeted exercises and electrotherapy, without compromising immobilization or bone alignment. These approaches promote bone remodeling while maintaining structural stability.
Furthermore, this review highlights the role of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in optimizing mechanical and electrical stimulation for improved healing outcomes. FEA helps refine intervention strategies by assessing stress distribution and mechanical responses under various therapeutic conditions, allowing for the optimization of treatment parameters to enhance fracture healing and recovery. Integrating immobilization with active rehabilitation promotes functional recovery while ensuring a practical, patient-centered approach. By combining these strategies, this review emphasizes the potential of innovative rehabilitation techniques to enhance healing efficiency.
